An African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) delegation led by Denys Denya, Executive Vice President (Finance, Administration and Banking Services), on Friday undertook an inspection of the Radisson Blu Abidjan Airport Hotel to assess the progress of work ahead of the hotel’s planned opening.

The Radisson Blu Abidjan Airport Hotel, which is scheduled to open before the end of the first quarter of 2016, is being developed with a 29 million-Euro Construction and Tourism-Linked Relay (CONTOUR) facility approved by Afreximbank for Ste KOIRA Hotel Investment, Cote d’Ivoire, a group of African entrepreneurs with interest in the hospitality sector in Cote d’Ivoire, Mali and other African countries.

In line with the terms of the CONTOUR programme, Afreximbank provided the African construction financiers involved in the project with a standby letter of credit in order to provide them comfort that they will be paid for the construction of the hotel.

In that regard, Afreximbank is the guarantor under the construction facility and the lender under the relay facility.

Frederic Feijs, General Manager Radisson Blu Abidjan Airport Hotel, who conducted the Afreximbank delegation around the project site, told the visitors that everything was on track for the opening of the hotel.

Joining Mr. Denya on the delegation were Alain-Thierry M’Bongue, Regional Manager (West and Central Africa), and Jean-Christian Koudou (Manager Business Development, West Africa).
