Afreximbank Wins Africainvestor’s Best African Listing Award

The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has received the award for the Best African Listing as part of the Africainvestor (Ai) Capital Market Index Series Awards, beating a field of nine other nominees for the coveted prize.

The award was presented during the 12th annual Ai CEO Institutional Investment Summit held in New York on 25 September.

According to Ai, the Capital Market Index Series Awards, launched in 2007, recognise the achievements of capital market investors, business leaders, regulators and institutions improving Africa’s capital market investment climate. They are designed to recognise Africa’s best performing stock exchanges, listed companies, investment banks, research teams, regulators, socially responsible companies, investment managers and institutional investors.

Receiving the award on behalf of Afreximbank was Ibrahim Sagna, Director of the Advisory and Capital Markets Department. He was joined by Dr. Philip Kamau, Chief Executive Officer of the Fund for Africa’s Export Development (FUNFED), a new Fund established by Afreximbank, and Mhamed Laraqui, Head of the Equity Mobilisation and Investor Relations Unit.
