Nigerian Vice President seeks Afreximbank support

Nigerian Vice-President Namadi Sambo has urged the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) to support his country’s economic development by enhancing the Bank’s activities, particularly in the areas of agricultural and development financing.

The Vice President was speaking in Abuja recently when he received an Afreximbank delegation led by Bank President Jean-Louis Ekra at Aso Rock, the Nigerian State House.

The delegation, which included Dr. Okey Oramah, the Afreximbank Executive Vice-President in charge of Business Development and Corporate Banking, was in Nigeria to assess the Bank’s operations there and to further improve coordination with the Nigerian authorities.

It also held meetings with the Minister of Trade and Investments, Mr. Olusegun Aganga, on agro-industrial development, and with the Minister of Justice, Mr. Bello Adoke.
