President Oramah Meets Bank of Sierra Leone Governor

The President of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), Prof. Benedict Oramah, yesterday in Bali, Indonesia, continued his consultations with African officials attending the 2018 International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group Annual Meetings, receiving a delegation of the Bank of Sierra Leone led by the Governor, Prof. Kelfala Kallon.

Speaking during the meeting, the President who is leading the Afreximbank delegation to the Meetings, said that Afreximbank was committed to doing more for the people of Sierra Leone and commended the strong cooperation existing between the country and the Bank.

He noted that, in addition to investing in Afreximbank, Sierra Leone had participated in the Bank’s Central Bank Deposit Programme which seeks to put Africa’s reserves to work for the continent.

Prof. Oramah briefed the visiting delegation on the Intra-African Trade Fair being organised by the Bank in December and also invited it to attend the Babacar Ndiaye Lecture being hosted by Afreximbank in Bali on 13 October.

Prof. Kallon, who was appointed about a week earlier, said that Sierra Leone wanted to see Afreximbank do well.

The Governor was accompanied to the meeting by Deputy Governor Dr. Ibrahim Stevens and several other officials.
