Job Summary
The Assistant Manager, Equity Mobilisation & Investor Relations will be responsible for supporting investor relations, shareholder engagement, capital raising efforts, and financial reporting to enhance Afreximbank’s equity mobilisation strategy. The role involves liaising with institutional investors, tracking financial performance, and ensuring compliance with corporate governance and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in investor relations, financial analysis, stakeholder management, and capital markets operations within a financial institution, investment bank, or development finance institution.
Key Responsibilities
Investor Relations & Communication
- Serve as the primary liaison between Afreximbank and current/potential investors, ensuring consistent communication.
- Prepare investor presentations, press releases, and financial reports for shareholder updates.
- Maintain and update investor communication materials to reflect market conditions and financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with stock exchange reporting requirements and corporate governance standards.
Shareholder Engagement & Market Positioning
- Develop and execute annual shareholder engagement programs, including investor roadshows and conferences.
- Respond to investor inquiries, concerns, and information requests in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the corporate communications team to manage public relations and investor messaging.
- Build and maintain a network of institutional investors, analysts, and financial advisors.
Financial Analysis & Capital Raising
- Track and analyze Afreximbank’s financial performance, providing insights to investors.
- Assist in structuring and executing capital-raising initiatives, collaborating with senior executives and financial advisors.
- Monitor market conditions, investor appetite, and regulatory changes affecting equity mobilisation.
- Provide analytical support for due diligence, equity structuring, and investment positioning.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure that all equity mobilisation activities comply with financial regulations and institutional policies.
- Support the due diligence process for capital-raising transactions.
- Adhere to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Insider Trading, and Anti-Bribery & Corruption regulations.
- Report any suspicious or non-compliant activities to the Compliance Department.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or Investment Management.
- Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field is preferred.
- Certification in Investor Relations (NIRI or equivalent) is an added advantage.

Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in investor relations, capital markets, or financial reporting.
- Experience in African Development Finance Institutions or stock listing processes is an advantage.
- Proven ability to manage relationships with investors, banks, governments, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Strong track record in strategic communication, market research, and financial analysis.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Expertise in equity structures, financial reporting, and capital markets operations.
- Strong financial modeling, investor communication, and public relations capabilities.
- Knowledge of corporate governance, investor engagement strategies, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools for investor relations.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (French, Arabic, or Portuguese is a plus).
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure investor interactions and strategic decision-making.
- High levels of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in managing confidential information.
