Job Summary
The Coverage Senior Manager – Arise Implant (GDIZ Benin) will be responsible for leading business development and operations across Afreximbank’s Arise Industrial Parks, focusing on driving export transactions and market expansion. The role involves developing and managing business plans, coordinating with internal functions, and facilitating financing for tenants while establishing key relationships with stakeholders and managing export-related programs targeting trade corridors like China and India.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in trade and export development, investment promotion, structured finance, and stakeholder engagement, with a deep understanding of African and Asian trade corridors.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Market Expansion
- Develop business and annual development plans to guide the Bank’s operations across all Arise Industrial Parks.
- Manage day-to-day operations and business development activities of Afreximbank’s implant offices within Arise Industrial Parks.
- Lead the origination and execution of export-related transactions within the Arise network of Industrial Parks.
- Develop, market, and manage products, initiatives, and programs targeting Arise IP tenants to drive export growth across key trade corridors (China, India, etc.).
- Design and implement market expansion initiatives, matching IP tenants with buyers/off-takers from Asia and other regions (facilitating Afreximbank financing).
Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary liaison between Afreximbank’s Arise Implants and internal departments (Credit, Legal, Banking Operations, etc.).
- Engage with relevant Bank functions (Trade Information, SME Development, Advisory Services) to facilitate financial and non-financial support for Arise IP tenants.
- Establish strong relationships with market players, including IP tenants, international buyers/off-takers, financial institutions, and commodity boards.
- Lead negotiations with African and international banks, financial institutions, project sponsors, developers, and corporate clients.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to Afreximbank’s AML, Regulatory, and Conduct Compliance policies, including:
- Anti-Money Laundering (AML) & Counter-Terrorism Financing
- Conflicts of Interest Policies
- Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) Guidelines
- Insider Trading & Staff Conduct Rules
- Report any suspicious or non-compliant activities to the Compliance Department.
- Complete the Annual Compliance Training & Assessment.
- Collaborate with the Compliance team to ensure all Bank products comply with country-specific regulations.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience

Education:
- A postgraduate degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, or a related field from a recognized university.

Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in trade and export development finance, structured trade finance, or investment promotion.
- Familiarity with financial products such as credit facilities, risk-bearing instruments, structured trade finance, and project-related financing.
- Proven track record in developing and marketing trade finance products to industrial clients.
- Experience managing high-level stakeholder relationships, including banks, corporates, and government entities.
- Strong knowledge of Africa’s and Asia’s trade finance landscapes, particularly China and India.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong credit analysis, documentation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to assess customer needs and develop relevant financing solutions.
- Experience in investment promotion, industrial park financing, and market expansion strategies.
- Familiarity with trade facilitation, global trade policies, and export market dynamics.

Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (knowledge of French, Arabic, or Portuguese is an advantage).
- Ability to engage senior officials in financial institutions, corporates, and government entities.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills.
- High attention to detail, professionalism, and ability to function in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
- Willingness to travel extensively to engage with stakeholders and oversee trade expansion initiatives.
