Job Summary
Afreximbank is establishing African Trade Centres (AATCs) across Global Africa to provide a comprehensive suite of trade services, trade finance, and business facilities. These centres aim to promote intra- and extra-African trade, catalyze value addition and export manufacturing, and drive Africa’s economic transformation.
The Manager, African Trade Center Global (Real Estate Assets Management) will be responsible for managing Afreximbank Group’s real estate investments, ensuring optimal asset performance, financial sustainability, and long-term value preservation.

Key Responsibilities
1. Real Estate Asset Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Develop and execute a comprehensive real estate asset management strategy, ensuring alignment with Afreximbank’s investment and development objectives.
- Oversee the acquisition, leasing, development, and disposal of real estate assets to optimize financial performance and return on investment (ROI).
- Monitor market trends, investment opportunities, and risks to ensure portfolio competitiveness and sustainability.
- Conduct due diligence, feasibility studies, and financial modeling for new and existing real estate projects.
- Implement asset enhancement plans, including renovations, redevelopments, and sustainability initiatives.
- Lead the valuation and financial analysis of ATC’s real estate assets, ensuring accurate reporting and performance tracking.
- Source premier tenants and oversee lease administration processes, ensuring optimal lease terms, tenant relations, and occupancy management.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, integrating sustainable development strategies.
2. Facilities & Property Management
- Oversee real estate operations, maintenance, and lifecycle planning for ATC Global properties.
- Optimize space utilization, cost efficiency, and sustainability across Afreximbank-owned and leased properties.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for facility maintenance, safety, and security.
- Manage relationships with external service providers to ensure high-quality facility management and maintenance contracts.
- Implement energy efficiency, waste management, and green building initiatives to reduce operational costs.
- Ensure compliance with local and international real estate laws, health & safety standards, and building codes.
- Develop risk management frameworks for property insurance, legal liabilities, and disaster recovery planning.
- Optimize rental income and commercial real estate revenue models for ATC business centers, logistics hubs, and trade zones.
3. Investment & Financial Management
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and cost control for Afreximbank’s real estate assets.
- Identify and assess real estate investment opportunities, structuring deals that enhance portfolio performance.
- Develop and present investment proposals, asset performance reports, and market research findings to senior leadership.
- Work with debt financiers, equity investors, and Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) to secure affordable real estate funding.
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships
- Build strong relationships with tenants, investment firms, real estate developers, and financial institutions to support ATC’s expansion.
- Lead negotiations for lease agreements, property acquisitions, and joint ventures with strategic partners.
- Represent ATC at real estate conferences, trade forums, and investment summits.
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Trade Facilitation teams to integrate real estate projects with ATC’s business strategy.
5. Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead and mentor a team of real estate professionals across ATC global locations, ensuring a high-performance culture.
- Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for asset performance, facility efficiency, and cost management.
- Provide training and capacity-building programs to ensure team members stay updated with market trends and industry best practices.
- Foster cross-departmental collaboration, ensuring real estate strategies align with Afreximbank’s overall trade and business objectives.
6. Other Responsibilities
- Stay informed on emerging real estate investment trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics impacting trade infrastructure.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by senior management.
Key Competencies & Skills Required
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Management, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Property Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in the above fields is preferred.
- Professional certifications in construction, real estate, engineering, architecture, procurement, project, and investment management are highly desirable.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in real estate asset management, investment analysis, or commercial property development.
- Proven expertise in real estate portfolio management, financial modeling, and property valuation.
- Experience in facility operations, contract management, and capital improvement projects.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in real estate financial modeling, lease administration, and investment analysis.
- Strong knowledge of global real estate regulations, risk management, and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in real estate management software.
- Experience with green building initiatives, ESG frameworks, and sustainable real estate practices.
Soft Skills & Leadership Abilities
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and execute real estate asset strategies.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills, with experience handling high-value real estate transactions.
- Strong leadership and team management experience, with a focus on mentorship, talent development, and performance optimization.
- Ability to build and maintain high-level stakeholder relationships, engaging with government agencies, investors, and trade policymakers.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex real estate investment proposals.
Language Proficiency
- Fluency in English is required.
- Proficiency in French, Arabic, Portuguese, or other African languages is an advantage.
