Job Summary
Afreximbank is developing a portfolio of hotels across Global Africa as part of the African Trade Centre (ATC) initiative. The role of Senior Manager, African Trade Center Global (Hotel Management & Operations) is to develop, manage and expand the ATC Hotel Brand across Global Africa, engage and manage hotel operators and third-party managers and ensure the investment in the ATC Hotels meets investment objectives. The role additionally, in conjunction with other departments and units, oversees the hotel, accommodation and meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE) operations of of the Afreximbank group.

Key Responsibilities
1. ATC Hotel Brand Development & Asset Management
- Serve as the Chief Operating Officer of the Afreximbank ATC Hotels strategic business unit.
- Develop and implement a growth strategy for the ATC Hotel Brand across Global Africa, ensuring alignment with Afreximbank’s investment goals.
- Establish and oversee a franchising framework, managing licensing and franchising operations for both Bank-owned and non-Bank hotels.
- Oversee the management and financial performance of Afreximbank ATC Hotel assets, ensuring maximum return on investment (ROI) and long-term sustainability.
- Lead negotiations and execute Hotel Management Agreements (HMAs) with globally recognized hotel operators and third-party management firms.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of hotel operators and third-party managers, ensuring contractual compliance, operational excellence, and guest satisfaction.
- Oversee the provision of advisory services to non-Bank ATC hotels.
- Develop and implement a marketing strategy to enhance brand visibility and market penetration.
- Provide strategic oversight for hotel pre-opening activities, including branding, marketing, staffing, and operational setup.
- Lead capital expenditure planning and benchmarking initiatives to optimize hotel profitability and asset value.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate financial, operational, and reputational risks.
- Ensure seamless service integration across all ATC service offerings.
- Establish strategic partnerships within the global hotel and travel industry to enhance brand positioning and growth.
2. Hotel, Accommodation & MICE Operations
- Lead and oversee Afreximbank’s accommodation and hospitality services, ensuring seamless, cost-effective operations.
- Build and maintain high-level relationships with global hotel chains, travel management companies (TMCs), event planners, and hospitality vendors to secure strategic partnerships.
- Negotiate and manage long-term contracts with key vendors to optimize costs, enhance service quality, and drive operational efficiencies.
- Implement innovative hotel booking and management systems, leveraging technology to improve efficiency, service delivery, and cost control.
- Ensure high guest satisfaction and adherence to top-tier service standards, reinforcing Afreximbank’s brand reputation.
- Oversee the planning and execution of high-profile Afreximbank events, conferences, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) activities, ensuring seamless logistics coordination.
- Develop and enforce policies and operational standards for accommodation and hospitality management across the Bank.
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Certifications
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Hotel Real Estate, Finance, or a related field.
- Specialized certifications in hotel and MICE management, hotel real estate investment, and asset management are an advantage.
Professional Experience
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in hotel brand management, asset management, hospitality operations, and MICE services.
- Proven expertise in hotel acquisitions, investment management, and contract negotiations with international hotel operators.
- Experience managing multi-property hotel operations and developing high-impact partnerships with global hospitality brands.
- Strong track record in budgeting, financial performance analysis, and strategic planning for hospitality businesses.
- In-depth knowledge of MICE industry trends, vendor management, and international event logistics.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, engage with C-suite executives, and manage complex hospitality projects.
