Abuja, 05 July 2016: – With Africa’s factoring volume expected to reach 200 billion Euros in 2020, the continent must put in place facilitating legal and regulatory infrastructure to enable it take advantage of the many opportunities associated with factoring, Kanayo Awani, Managing Director of the Intra-African Trade Initiative at the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), told guests at a seminar in Abuja yesterday.
The Minister of Energy of Sierra Leone, Henry Macauley, visited the Cairo headquarters of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) today to seek the Bank’s support for the Government’s effort to meet the country’s energy needs.

The Kingdom of Lesotho has joined The African Export-Import Bank (“Afreximbank” or the “Bank”) as a Participating State. In a ceremony held here today at the sidelines of the 2009 Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank Group, the Honorable Minister of Finance of the Kingdom of Lesotho, Mr. Timothy Thahane formally delivered to the President of the Bank, Mr. Jean–Louis EKRA, an Instrument of Accession to the Agreement Establishing the African Export-Import Bank duly executed by the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho.

Signing Ceremony Of A Cooperation Agreement Between Africa Finance Corporation And African Export-Import Bank
The African Export-Import Bank (the “Bank” or “Afreximbank”) today, in Abuja, Nigeria entered into a Cooperation Agreement with the Africa Finance Corporation (“AFC” or the “Corporation”). The Agreement provides a framework for collaboration between the two institutions by harmonizing their resources for the promotion of trade and economic development in Africa.
Arab Banking Corporation (B.S.C.), Commerzbank Aktiengesellschaft, HSBC Bank plc and Landesbank Baden-Württemberg, London Branch (the “Mandated Lead Arrangers” and “Bookrunners”) are pleased to announce that they have successfully closed syndication of a US$65,000,000 and EUR31,000,000 Dual Tranche Syndicated Term Loan Facility (the “Facility”) for African Export-Import Bank.
