This edition is a result of proceedings of the eighth edition of the Babacar Ndiaye Lecture Series held on 26 October 2024 in Washington DC, USA on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. The theme for this edition was “Saving Lives Today Versus Saving the Planet for the Future: Can the AfCFTA resolve the climate change dilemma?” Former Vice President of the Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Professor Yemi Osinbajo, delivered the keynote address, which was followed by recorded video statements by Her Excellency Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, the Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation for the Arab Republic of Egypt, and Her Excellency.
